1829 version of the King James Bible

1829 King James Bible

This Bible is said to be the binding style used for the 1830 edition of the Book of Mormon. It is a King James Version of the Bible and was published by the American Bible Society in 1829. The Society was founded in 1816 with the goal of providing a Bible to all those who did not own one. They made a concentrated effort to make sure that a Bible was placed in every household in America. Their motto was, "A Bible to every household."  The Society published over one million Bibles over a three year period. This was an unprecedented and staggering number of books to come from an American publisher of the time.
