1830 Book of MormonThis Book of Mormon was printed in Palmyra, New York in the local printery of E.B. Grandin.
Joseph Smith finished translating the plates in July 1829. Oliver Cowdery was the scribe for most of the translation. Oliver made a second copy of the original manuscript for the typesetter to use.
Portions of the second manuscript were delivered to the printers each morning, where it was typeset and printed. The manuscript was then picked up in the evening for safekeeping.
This book originally sold for $1.75. Than would equal about $35-40 in today's currency.
