Philosophy Paper (Due Lesson 05)
Before this paper will be graded, you must first successfully meet all the expectations of the History of Nursing Paper. You will need to resubmit that paper as many times as it takes to meet those requirements. This is your opportunity to fully understand the expectations you will have for all papers in your Nursing program. After achieving an error-free History of Nursing Paper, you may submit this paper.
Instructions
Read the information in the Nursing Metaparadigm and Chapter 12 of the Professional Nursing textbook for the basis of your philosophy paper. At this point in your BSN education, you will need to reflect about your own "philosophy of nursing."
Paper Requirements and Guidelines
- Reflect on the FOUR MAJOR CONCEPTS: Nursing, Person, Environment and Health. Write four lengthy paragraphs (5-7 sentence each), one for each of the four major concepts. For each paragraph, write your own personal philosophy or personal meaning of that concept. Content may also include the following points:
- The value or impact on society, communities, the family and individuals
- Thoughts on ethics, law or cultural diversity
- How your philosophy will direct your future professional work in the field of nursing
- Follow the APA Guidelines for Papers for " Reflection Papers"
- Include APA Title Page and Header
- If level headings are used, specify the four concepts under the Metaparadigm (1st level heading) and use the four concepts as 2nd level headings
- No reference page needed. This paper should be your own thoughts and reflections.
- Please use 1st person for reflection
- Plagiarism is unacceptable.
- Contractions (such as don't, couldn't) should not be used
- Acronyms and Abbreviations: the first time the abbreviation is used, spell out the term and place the abbreviations in parenthesis after it. After this you may just use the abbreviation
- Papers will be penalized for misspelled words, typographical errors and grammar mistakes.
- If the Philosophy Paper does not include the four Nursing Metaparadigm Concepts (listed above) it will be returned and must be resubmitted until all 4 concepts are captured in the paper. A 10% grade reduction will be awarded for any paper that is returned for resubmission.
- When you are ready, submit your Philosophy Paper in iLearn.
