Margins

An equally important formatting setting in academic writing is keeping your margins at 1-inch (or 2.5 centimeters) all around. To check your margin settings, click on the icons shown in the image below:

This is an image of how to check the format settings on Microsoft Word. Step 1: Click on 'Layout' at the top of the page. Step 2: Clock on 'Margins' on the left side.

Step 1: Click on the “Layout” tab located at the top of your screen
Step 2: Click on “Margins” to assess what your current setting is (it should be set to 1” or to 2.5 centimeters)
