ECEN 106 Week 09.2 Lab Intro: Two-Bit Adder Lab

Lab Overview:

In this lab, you will connect logic gates together to create a logic circuit that performs binary addition. More specifically, you will create a two-bit adder—an adder that adds numbers together that are each two-bits wide. You will do this with a half adder on the bit 0 position and a full adder on the bit 1 position.

This lab is different from the previous labs in that you will create the cicuit in simulation using an online program called Tinkercad.

There is an Extra Credit option to additionally do the lab in physical hardware with your kit and another Extra Credit option to turn the adder into a subtractor.

Prepare for the Two-Bit Adder Lab:

  1. Make sure you have completed all the W09.1 activities before begining this lab.
  2. Please create a Tinkercad account if you have not already done so. Instructions on account setup can be found in the lab instructions below.
